What is a Vascular Ultrasound?

A vascular ultrasound is a type of medical imaging test that is used to diagnose and monitor conditions of the blood vessels and circulatory system. It uses sound waves to create images of the arteries and veins, allowing doctors to detect any issues or abnormalities. Vascular ultrasounds can be used to diagnose problems such as aneurysms, blockages, and varicose veins.

Do I need a Vascular Ultrasound?

In some cases, a vascular ultrasound may be recommended for patients who have symptoms of a circulatory disorder. It can also be used to monitor the progress of treatments such as angioplasty and stent placement. If you experience any symptoms of a vascular problem such as leg pain, swelling, or difficulty walking, it is important to consider a vascular ultrasound.
