What are Spider Veins?

Spider veins are small, thin veins that appear close to the surface of the skin. They are often red, blue, or purple in color and look like a spider’s web. Spider veins are most common on the legs, but can also appear on the face and other areas of the body.

Do I have Spider Veins?

If you have any of these symptoms, you may have spider veins: visible veins, aching, heaviness, burning, or swelling in the legs. If you think you may have spider veins, it is important to see a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment. Treatment of spider veins usually involves the use of sclerotherapy, which is a minimally invasive procedure that involves injecting a solution into the affected veins. This solution causes the veins to collapse and eventually fade away. It is a fast and effective way to reduce the appearance of spider veins and can be done in the doctor’s office in just a few minutes. After treatment, the appearance of the veins will gradually improve over the course of a few weeks.
